Restore The Form And Function Of Your Smile

When you’re missing one or more teeth, dental implants are an excellent way to restore the form and function of your smile. Implants involve the insertion of a durable metal peg in place of the missing tooth. A lifelike artificial tooth, commonly known as a crown, is then fitted over the peg. In some cases, such as with bridges, more than one tooth is attached to the implant. Implants are a durable, comfortable, and permanent solution for missing teeth or teeth that require removal. Cape Dental Care has been providing Cape Coral and Lee County with premium implants for over twenty-five years.

Your Smile, Made Complete

Your implant replaces your tooth from root to tooth surface, guaranteeing strength and durability. Your implant is anchored in your jawbone, acting as a root to your new tooth. This gives the tooth superior stability. Because of this, your new tooth can withstand a lifetime of use. This added strength means it can make bold improvements to the function of your smile, allowing you to chew and speak more easily. It also means that your surrounding teeth receive structural support they dearly need. As teeth help each other to stay in position, a missing tooth can lead to further tooth loss over time. Your dental implant will give its neighboring teeth the support they need to prevent you from losing more teeth.

How Will I Receive My Dental Implant?

Installation is a three step procedure. Before installation, a full imaging is made of the patient’s jaw and mouth. This ensures implant precision and stability. Our practice uses the latest advancements in 3D imaging to chart the shape and make-up of your mouth. In some cases, this reveals a lack of needed bone tissue, and a bone graft may be suggested. Once we’ve mapped out your mouth and planned for the implant, the first part of the implant is secured. This involves inserting a titanium bolt, much like the root of a tooth, into your jawbone. Once the gums and jawbone have healed around the bolt, a small peg called an abutment is attached to the implant. A custom crafted crown is then attached over the abutment and sealed into place using hard-bonding resin.
