An All-New Smile, An All-New You
Everyone deserves to have a functional, beautiful smile. Sadly, damage, discoloration, or problems with dental development leave many people embarrassed of their teeth and their smiles. Veneers give patients the chance to completely – and permanently – transform their smiles. Cape Dental Care offers both porcelain and composite veneers, working closely with our patients to find the style of veneers right for them. Our dentists have spent over two decades giving patients in Cape Coral and Lee County the gift of brand new smiles.
What Veneers Can Do For You
Embarrassment over your smile is more common than most people think. At Cape Dental Care, our dentists have spoken with hundreds – yes, hundreds – of patients embarrassed by their teeth. From stunted tooth growth, to improper alignment, to badly yellowed enamel, there are all sorts of reasons that people feel self-conscious about their smiles. Sometimes these problems can be fixed through simple treatments, such as braces, or local surgery. In other cases, however, patients are looking for more total or permanent solutions. In these cases, veneers can be an excellent choice. Veneers are a total-smile treatment, completely reshaping the look of your teeth.
How Do I Choose The Right Veneers For Me?
Cape Dental Care offers patients two different styles of veneers: porcelain veneers, sometimes known as ceramic veneers, and composite veneers. Both styles are custom crafted and attached to the front of your teeth, giving each tooth a completely new surface and appearance.
Porcelain Veneers are the more durable of the two styles, but require two appointments – in the first, your orthodontist takes an impression of your teeth, using the most accurate bite registration in dentistry. Your veneers are then custom made from a model of your teeth and attached using resin cement at a later appointment.
Composite Veneers are the more affordable style, but can require some upkeep after five to ten years. They are made of composite resin, a kind of plastic, which is applied to your teeth, molded to the desired shape, and then hardened using UV light.
In both cases, you receive a brand new, radiant smile that will last you for a lifetime.
Will My Veneers Be Comfortable?
Most patients adapt quickly to their veneers, though there is usually a small adjustment period. You may need to keep to a diet of soft foods for a period of 2-4 weeks, or require fine-tuning to the shape of your veneers (accomplished by filing them slightly to achieve a proper bite).
In order to provide a strong bond for veneers, a thin layer of enamel must be removed from the front of the teeth being treated. During each procedure, our orthodontists use local anaesthetic to ensure your procedure is painless. We also offer a selection of sedation dentistry options. It is important to us that your treatment be relaxing and comfortable, in keeping with our Patient Comfort Promise:
Cape Dental Care is committed to ensuring your visit is as pleasant and comfortable as possible. Our dentists and support staff provide every patient with the utmost of courtesy and gentle dental care. Each treatment takes place in a relaxed and comfortable atmosphere, and every patient room offers a therapeutic view of our soothing and beautiful aviary. We guarantee every effort will be made to accommodate your needs or requests.
During your consultation, be sure to speak with your orthodontist about the ways we can make your treatment as comfortable as possible.
